As your source for Kiln Dried Timber, we take newly cut hardwoods and softwoods, including Red Oak, White Pine, Yellow Pine, Douglas Fir, Walnut, Maple and Cherry—just to name a few—and make them behave like old, nature-seasoned wood. In a matter of days, not years.

New York RFV Kilns remains superior in its ability to harness and control RFV (Radio Frequency Vacuum) technology—the optimum timber drying technique. Radio frequency energy—similar to the energy generated in a microwave oven—vaporizes the wood's natural water. Not only does the vacuum evacuate the water vapor from the kiln chamber, but it also prevents the wood from overheating. “Cool” and uniform moisture extraction resulting from the RFV Kiln Dried process produces timbers that remain as stable as age-old wood.

New York RFV Kiln Dried timber is as dry at its heart as it is on the surface. The resulting moisture content is truly uniform throughout the timber's length and cross-section. Never brittle, they maintain their modulus of elasticity, and are relatively easy to cut.

The amount of checking that occurs in the RFV Kiln Dried process is often actually less than if the timber were allowed to air-cure over a period of years. This is because the wood's water is extracted uniformly, from the center to the outside surface. And it's done in a short period of time. That period is a matter of hours or days, not years.
